So today I had my high risk OB consultation at St. Joe's hospital. It went extremely well! I met with Dr. Cootauco for about 45 minutes and we discussed pretty much everything tetralogy of fallot relating to pregnancy. She thinks I should be able to have a normal pregnancy, which is exactly what Dr. Tatum (cardiologist at Children's) told me earlier this year. She wants me to come back for a sonogram at 19 weeks and a fetal echocardiogram between 22-24 weeks. She is also going to refer me to a cardiologist at St. Joe's so that someone at the hospital can be monitoring my heart as well. They want me to have at least one echo in the middle of my pregnancy and another one near the end so they can track the changes of my heart during and after my pregnancy.
After my appointment I contacted Children's to let them know I'm pregnant :) and see where they wanted to go from here. It took about 5 transfers to get to the person I needed to talk to but we got it all figured out and Dr. Tatum is to call me to let me know the next step. Today was another great day! I am so thankful to be going through this experience and to have such great family, friends, and doctors helping me along the way!!!
And BTW...if you are reading this post PLEASE become a follower! :) I'm feeling a little lonely lol!!! Thanks sis for being my first!!! <3 you!

First Ultrasound!!!
I really really REALLY need to do a better job of updating this more frequently and on the day that things actually happen!! :) I WILL start doing better!
So anyways...this past Wednesday Shawn and I went to our first ultrasound and got to see our little Poppy for the very first time!!! It was incredible! We even got to see the flicker of Poppy's heartbeat! Our baby measured 7w3d at 1.28 cm!
On Tuesday I will see the high risk doctor and hopefully they will have some input on my sonogram as well...the place we went to is affiliated with my OB but they couldn't tell me anything other than there was a baby with a heartbeat lol!
Shawn was so cute when they were showing us the baby...and funny...he made sure to ask the technician if she was sure there was only one baby in there lol!!! He said he can only afford one right now haha!
Grammie and Shelby got here last night and we told them at dinner :) Grammie and mom started crying and Shelby thought it was cool! It was a great moment! Now that Grammie knows we aren't really keeping it a secret anymore...and thank goodness for that lol...this is a big secret to keep!
I am 8 weeks today and am feeling good! A little nauseous from time to time and tired but a very happy mommy to be!

Shawn spent the weekend in DuBois at camp hunting bear and is on his way back to Baltimore now - hooray! So I think its time to get comfy, put on a movie, and relax until he gets home :)

First OB Appt!!
Today was my first OB appt :) It wasn't too exciting, I met with the nurse and we went over my medical history and she answered any questions I had. She gave me a due date of July 3, 2011. After my appt I had to go across the hall to get some blood drawn. They drew 7 tubes of blood and it took forever lol!!! I will have a dating u/s this Wednesday and we will get to see our little Poppy for the very first time! Shawn is so excited that we get to see the baby in 2 days!!!! Of course I am too :)
After my sonogram I will schedule an appt with the high risk doctor. The nurse said that doesn't necessarily mean I'm high risk, they just want me to see the high risk doctor because of my heart...just in case :) And then my next OB appt is December 7. Let the fun begin!
I've been very tired and haven't had much motivation to blog lately lol, I'm going to try harder now that I'll be having more doctor appts and what not!
XOXO
